How many denominations participate in Stephen Ministries?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2011 and filed under ministries | 3 Comments »

Stephen Ministers serve by counseling those in need. People going through difficult times without someone to talk to can request help through Stephen Ministries.

From their website:

Stephen Ministries organization and developed the Stephen Series, which now has been implemented in more than 10,000 congregations representing more than 150 Christian denominations. More than 500,000 laypersons have been trained as Stephen Ministers, who in turn have ministered to more than a million care receivers.

Tens of thousands of pastors and lay leaders trained as Stephen Leaders to direct Stephen Ministry in those congregations. And hundreds of thousands of lay Stephen Ministers reaching out with Christ’s love to hurting people. But biggest of all is the number of people whom God has cared for through a Stephen Minister. More than a million–and growing.

Has a staff of about 45 dedicated people–pastors and laity–from a variety of denominational backgrounds

I’m Christian and I was wondering if you know any groups taking prayer requests like as a prayer ministry where people in the USA can call prayer requests in, or email to a Christian group.
Thanks for any information.

how has the church played a role in preserving Christ’s teachings and ministry thought out history to this day? I’m having a really hard time with this thanks.

You should be having a hard time with this one.

The church has done a great job of preserving Paul’s teachings and ministry, which is a near polar opposite of the teachings of jesus.

Where can I get a Harry Potter Ministry of Magic license plate frame?

Posted by admin on February 10th, 2011 and filed under ministry | 2 Comments »

I remember seeing one in a parking lot and was really interested in finding one for a friend.

It said something like "this is a muggle car and ministry of magic or something" This was the frame that holds the license plate not the plate itself. If someone could point me in the right direction I’d really be grateful.

Since HP is under Warner Brothers, I’d check their website first.

Christians: Should I still donate for the ministry?

Posted by admin on February 8th, 2011 and filed under christian ministry | 7 Comments »

I have been donating for a Christian ministry for more than six years.
The founder of the ministry used to send me e-mail regularly,
but now, he even doesn’t send thank-you e-mail when I donate, or he doesn’t reply any of my e-mail.
I live in a different country from the ministry and I have never met him but I used to listen to his radio program which he quit about a year ago.
I was just a fan of the radio program.
Should I still donate for the ministry when I don’t ever hear from him?

Donate to where you truly believe God’s work is being done. Never expect a thank you, just be sure it is going for God’s work…

Ministry and Video Games?

Can you minister to people and play video games?

Why couldn’t you? Does the bible suddenly say, "Thou shalt not playeth the video game, it is an abomination before the LORD"?

Is the purpose of Christian ministry simply to preach about Heaven and Hell?

Is the only purpose of ministry in the Christian religion to preach about salvation?

The idea of a "ministry" is that you are providing a service to someone in need.

The greatest service we can provide to anyone is to help them learn how to be saved.

Other service, however, may involve offering encouragement to those who need it, as well as giving guidance to help Christians stay on the right path, and warnings to those who have left or are in danger of leaving the service of God altogether.

In any case, the purpose of preaching should be to see what those hearing need the most and to provide it. Many times such preaching also is accompanied with other forms of service.

The Bible says we should speak "the truth in love"! (Eph. 4:15) If either truth or love is missing, our message is incomplete!
