Where is Christian ministry really needed?

I am looking for something to support and get involved in. Maybe a cause or a group.

Everywhere, dangit. Go find your neighborhood atheist and flood his/her mailbox with pamphlets until he/she finally realizes that Jesus is the best. Duh.

Just kidding, don’t do that…if you do I might have to flood your mailbox with Bibles, because people who do that clearly haven’t ever read one. If you want to make a difference the best thing you can do is follow Jesus with your entire life. If you’re doing it right people will notice. The second best thing you can do is become educated about your own faith and the faiths of others. Too many Christians these days are ignorant and when someone asks them a hard question they can only stand there with their mouths gaping. You don’t need to hop on a plane and go somewhere to do ministry…there’s a need right in your hometown.

If you have some money lying around you should give it to International Justice Mission. They’re freeing people trapped in sex trafficking and other kinds of slavery around the world. Or, if there’s another issue you’re passionate about, I’m sure there’s a nonprofit working to fix it.

How do we serve to our God in this chat?

If we read a question and the Holy Spirit leads or quickens us to answer it, it may be for a reason. Often I have gotten a best answer on a question I really felt drawn to answer. I don’t think anyone who is lead by the spirit is on this site by chance. There are, however, a lot of people who really aren’t interested in giving an intelligent answer. And some who just like to mock others. I find this hard to understand, since time is precious. Why would someone waste time being hateful and mean. We need to be kind and wise in the giving of ourselves to other souls.

what would attract you to a christian youth ministry?

What events would you like to see from that youth ministry taking into consideration that they are kind of new.
what events could we set up e.g BBQ or concert where you can just worship God. Not all Youth ministry brainwash youths, youths have their own decision in believing in God or not, it’s their chose. Also how can youth church be more interesting.

you should see about getting an adult to supervise and lead the group. Most adults will not permit their kid to hang out with a church group that has no one to supervise it. Give your ideas to what you think would be good activities or suggestions on how to make it go well to the person whom ends up leading.

Christians: Should I still donate for the ministry?

I have been donating for a Christian ministry for more than six years.
The founder of the ministry used to send me e-mail regularly,
but now, he even doesn’t send thank-you e-mail when I donate, or he doesn’t reply any of my e-mail.
I live in a different country from the ministry and I have never met him but I used to listen to his radio program which he quit about a year ago.
I was just a fan of the radio program.
Should I still donate for the ministry when I don’t ever hear from him?

Donate to where you truly believe God’s work is being done. Never expect a thank you, just be sure it is going for God’s work…

I want to go into Christian ministry but not sure what to study at UConn?

I am a freshmen at UConn and want to go into Christian ministry. As a big state school it doesn’t offer classes for that kind of thing. What do I study??? Are there classes that will be better to take here?

What sense do you have for the part of God’s ministry that He is calling you to?

Helping the poor (this is a wide-ranging topic, so only samples in my answer)?
Social Work, Economics, Psychology, Hydro-Engineering (uncle that drilled wells in Malawi), even Political-Science or Law (but that’s grad school and I think you’re in undergrad – is that right?) could help if you feel drawn to advocacy work.

Any particular ethnic or religious group?
World Religions, or a course focused on a particular ethnic or religious group, possibly a language if a country or linguistic group comes into focus. Sociology or Socio-Cultural Anthropology helps in group analysis and diagnosis. If you feel called into the private sector, study business…

It really depends on your sense of the call so far.
Remember, though, that God does not waste anything. Look at the Apostle Paul – he had all this training, but not the heart. But, once the heart was made right, God used all the other stuff (albeit transformed a bit!) for His glory! EVERY Christian is a minister, so don’t fret it too much.

As you walk down the path, ask God to help you work with Him, and to draw you closer to Him whichever path you take.

What is the meaning of Christian ministry

its dealing with any type of work connected with spreading the gospel
in the church there are various areas where different types of ministeries are employed to spread develope and minister to the spiritual needs of both those already in christ and outside of the church!!!!!!!!the work of a pastor is a ministry!!!!!!one who teaches a sunday school class is another christian ministry in the church!!!people who go out the four corners of the church bldg are doing the ministry of christian evangelization!!!!one who plays music in the church is also doing christian ministry!!!!!!!!!!!!!any type of work that is done to the glory of god for his advancing the kingdom of god in reaching those who need to hear the gospel of christ through the means indicated by the word of god!!!!!is christian ministry!!!missionaries are doing the work of christian ministry!!!!!!!! but the most important thing to always remember in order to do this work for the lord one must be empowered by the holy spirit in their lives and also prepared to sacrifice their lives in complete submission to the word of god!!!!!and his holy call to serve him in whatever capacity he impresses upon them to serve him in the church or doing any type of christian ministry outside the church!!!!!but only if god calls and is allowed to work in the person empowering them to do his devine will!!!!!!this is the only way this work can be genuinely effective!!!!!!!thats its called christian ministry!!!because all is done thru the empowerment of having a right relationship with jesus!!!!!!!!god saved you for a purpose to bring glory only to his holy name and to serve him in spirit and in truth!!!!
