Matt. x.16: " Behold I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves."

Is it okay to give your tithe to your children (savings account) instead of a church, ministry, missionary, etc?

Posted by admin on June 21st, 2011 and filed under church ministry | 14 Comments »

The answer I am seeking is not an issue of whether I should tithe or not. The question is "WHERE" or "TO WHOM" I can or should tithe. Is it acceptable to tithe to your own children, to invest in them, and let God bless that.

I think that it’s much better for you to give it to your children, especially for their education. Of course, I’m an atheist and note that much of the money given to "church, ministry, missionary, etc." is wasted.

Here’s George Carlin, on "Politically Incorrect" 5/29/1997

"In the Bullshit Department, a businessman can’t hold a candle to a clergyman. ‘Cause I gotta tell you the truth, folks. When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: Religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told.

"Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man — living in the sky — who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ’til the end of time!

"But He loves you.

"He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit!"

Is St.Vincent de paul a ministry of the church?

Posted by admin on May 7th, 2011 and filed under church ministry | 1 Comment »

I have a school assignment where we have to research two different ministries of the catholic church and who they help, how the community supports them and if they are effective in what they do, I thought St.Vincent de paul might be an easy one to do but I’m not sure if it’s a ministry. Any other suggestions of ministries or additional information would be really appriciated. Thanx.

it sure is bree! it’s a really good one too as they are working overtime now with so many people out of work! not sure what other groups your church has but there is generally a youth ministry or bible school, altar society or such…. any of those who help or minister to others would work fine. there might even be one for the elder.

When we volunteer for the ministry or give to the church, should it be done quietly?

When we do good deeds for God in God’s service, should we do it out in the open so that others may see- or should we do them quietly, without being in the public eye?

What about tithing and giving to the Church? Should it be made public, or is this a private matter?

well it certainly shouldnt be done in public, as Jesus said not to be like the hypocrites (pharisees) who like to make themselves look good in the public eye, but do no good for themselves or the kingdom of God. but tithing and such should be more of a personal matter between you and God (and your spouse, if/when you’re married). the same applies for God’s service-dont boast! just remember to be humble and keep in mind that the reason you’re doing everything is for the glory of the Lord. may God bless you =]

Church/Ministry in Indianapolis?

Posted by admin on March 12th, 2011 and filed under church ministry | 2 Comments »

I am looking for a church/ministry in Indianapolis that is small with a family atmosphere, where the man of God knows the Word but doesn’t solely have to use the Bible, where people recognize that you can’t have a relationship with God and dislike the people around you. I am truly looking for a place where I can grow and fellowship spiritually.

does the catholic church approve of the church of God ministry of jesus christ international?

Posted by admin on March 10th, 2011 and filed under church ministry | 2 Comments »

Well i recently went to the Church of God ministry and i was wondering if the catholic church approves of this small church? or if anyone can give me more information about this church and what it is how it works and how it varies from the catholic church.
Well i went because a friend of mine told me that the catholic church approves of it or something like that, but i don’t exactly know what they mean of approve. Just looking into them to see what they are and stuff like that.

"approves of"?

Well, I do not believe the Church "approves" of any churches beside its own. All other churches have at least some heretical doctrine.

But, from my limited google research, it is a disorganized collection of several church bodies and it descends from pentecostals who tend to be quite opposed to the Church. But, since they are really just a collection of a whole bunch of bodies, it is hard to pin down exactly what they believe in.

Three things done in secret that God will reward openly: Pray, Tithe, and Fast.

how has the church played a role in preserving Christ’s teachings and ministry thought out history to this day? I’m having a really hard time with this thanks.

You should be having a hard time with this one.

The church has done a great job of preserving Paul’s teachings and ministry, which is a near polar opposite of the teachings of jesus.

Is it legal in the United Kingdom to call a church ministry the Church Of England if you prefix it first?

Posted by admin on January 4th, 2011 and filed under church ministry | 3 Comments »

For instance calling it the Ecumenical Church of England or the Evangelical Church of England.

As long as your not using the name to commit a fraud why not?
