The baptist megachurch I was raised in has a horrible youth ministry program. I just found one a friend invited too in a midsized charismatic church that I love. I was just wondered how your experience was with finding a good youth ministry.
Yeh, its just really fun at the one I go to. Its fun talking about God and learning more about Him especially when you add comedy to it. The pastor is funny like a comedian so we laugh a lot and also learn about God at the same time. And most of the youth there are actually serious about God and not just there just to be there so when everyone is participating with joy it makes it that much more fun.
I mean if they know this person had a sex change before, would they be accepted? (Someone ask me this yesterday and I honestly don’t know)
Not into the Priesthood AKA Holy Orders without remission of Sin and a dispensation from an Arch Bishop.
However, if you mean "ministry" as in the general congregation…….. YES they would. However, the Church itself, teaches that changing one’s gender is wrong. However, simply because someone has done something wrong OR has an unrepented sin on their heart..doesn’t in any way preclude them from being part of the Catholic church. Perhaps preclude them from taking "Holy Orders" but not serving in a layity ministry or committee.
As for a Catholic Lay person or believer:
They’d kindly ask that a person in that state who is unrepentent about their decision to not engage in the Sacrament of Holy Communion…but they can participate in all other sacraments and celebrations of the Mass.
This is NOT because they are transgendered, but because, like many of us, they have a grave sin which they aren’t sorry about.
Same as someone who cheated on their spouse or stole something.
The Catholic church, of all institutions, is KEENLY aware that being Flawed makes you no less a child of God and makes you no less called to live a life of holiness.
The Church’s own history has taught her this beyond a shadow of a doubt. They might not be called to take the sacrament of Holy Orders..but they can be fully Catholic in all other aspects of the faith.
Furthermore, the bible teaches us that God uses flawed people to his glory and the benefit of others all the time. The Hebrew Bible is full of examples of this. Israel struggled and deviated from God many times… yet they are his chosen people.
If we look at the lives of the Apostles.. we see this most obviously.
1 denied him 3 times
1 use to kill Christians
1 betrayed him
and the other 9 HID behind a locked door when Christ needed them the most and were too scared to spread the message until Christ appeared to them and encouraged them.
SO, the Apostles are examples of imperfect people still being holy.
