An open letter to Camping’s website:
I watched your ministry’s video on YouTube and read your tracts. You claim your faith is in the Bible. Can’t help but ask, which part?
In Mark 13:31-33 Jesus says,
31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
God is not mocked. He doesn’t contradict Himself. So, if this ministry is biblically based, why did you choose to dismiss Jesus’ direct words?
In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 it says,
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
James 14-21 says,
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
This all leads to the following challenge:
Will you seek God’s mercy, find it in your heart to confess and repent of this falseness and do right by those who’ve been deceived…those who misplaced their devotion to this ministry? Will you find it the right thing to do by offering finances to them so they can get back on their feet?
And finally, will you do the right thing and step out from public ministry?
I have no part in that ministry. My heart goes out to those who’ve been deceived.
I believe God is no respecter of persons and that His mercy and grace can be extended to Harold Camping if he repented.
Zachias is such a man: a tax collector who took more than necessary from people and padded his pockets. Jesus stepped into his life and led him to repent and give back.
I pray the Holy Spirit will lead Harold Camping to repentance.
With respect to the comment about Noah and his family being a cult, I respectfully disagree. The beginning of Genesis 6 describes the condition of mankind and God saying it repented him of creating man. Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
That means Noah was the only one on earth worthy of saving.
Now, if you were to say there were 200 who were righteous and Noah’s family the only ones saved, then I’d agree it’d be cultish. But that wasn’t the case.
Mr. Camping’s movement, however, falls under the definition of a cult because it separates
itself from the Body of Christ.
With respect to Christ coming as a thief in the night, the keyword is "as". Christ is not a thief.
1 Thes. 5:1-3 says
1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
2 Peter 3:10 is another good description.
Basically, thiefs don’t announce their arrival. If they did, we’d be prepared for them.
If we were able to know exactly when Christ would return, how would that change our lives? Would we be living for Him out of sincerity or fear?
Revelation 3:3 is written to one of the seven churches. It is not meant for the lost. The lost have not receved nor heard; so how can they obey and repent? Also, when Christ returns, it will be for us…not them. Read the verse again.
"Remember, therefore, what you have RECEIVED and HEARD; obey it, and repent. But if you DO NOT wake up, I WILL COME like a thief, and you WILL NOT know at what time I will come to you." (Revelation 3:3)
No, I think people should learn from their ignorance. Jesus specifically warned us about false prophets like this.

Religion claims to already know the unknown, science is the pursuit of the unknown

Hi, i’m looking for a video of somebody/ some group of people helping others in a creative way, or helping the community. Anyone know of a good video? I would like the video to be somewhat professional, and not too long. 2-10 is good
. If you do not know of a video, and article would be welcome to (but video is much preferred). Thanks!

I don’t know exactly what you prefer, but I’ve got some videos I’ve found that seem to fit your criteria. I hope I’m not too late =)

I’ve been watching numerous ones tonight, and I have to say – I’m encouraged. I’m very aware that there are a lot of Christians who condemn homosexuality and dehumanize gays. But there are also Christians out there (and not just random kids – but leaders in the Christian churches) who understand that even though we’re gay – we’re still human. And we struggle with the same emotions and issues that are common to all humans. The need for love, acceptance, etc. It’s not like we’re a different species than straight people – in fact, we’re very much the same, but were simply dealt a slightly different hand of cards in the game of life.
Haha probably no one is actually interested in watching any videos whatsoever – but I’ve been feeling reflective tonight, which is why I did some surfing, and it’s why I’m sharing now. Here are a couple in case anyone feels like looking.
http://www.youtube.com/user/jesterdb#p/u/16/W4I0cbs7HTQ – I was so impressed that a Christian woman of this age was so understanding (and I’m sad to hear that she passed away a few years ago).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1lFemAv9kw&t=3m16s – A woman’s story of coming to terms with her child being gay. This is a link to the specific portion of the video where she addresses ex-gay ministries.
I just fricking love hearing people tackle real life issues with honesty, integrity, and empathy.
In case you’re wondering, I’m an atheist who was raised Christian, and is gay. Even though I don’t adhere to the belief system of Christianity, I still have a soft spot for Christians and am always pained when I see them acting foolishly, and encouraged when I see them acting with maturity and empathy.
By the way – I fricking love you Y!A peeps. <3 You’re great.
Agreed Ashlie. =D
Techno and Sher – totally valid. I’ve often avoided them too. I’ve seen too many videos that just make my blood boil.
Haha I like you Dave. You’re great. Yeah, many churches definitely ignore the sins within their congregations and distract themselves with other things (ie uniting to fight the against their common "enemy" of homosexuality).
That’s true Kyle – I’m sure she still didn’t think that being homosexual was a great thing. I think my love for the video comes from my Christian background. I’m so used to the older generation of Christians being so condemning that it’s always inspiring to me when they’re willing to listen and be empathic and not just immediately assume homosexuality = you’re a bad person. We didn’t choose to be gay. And as for the second video – agreed. Very powerful choice of words.
I watched both of them, the first video lost my interest, I felt she was more supportive of her son rather then accepting, sure she loves him but she still seems to condone it. When she said the words "tell your son I love you and I’m going to pray for you"….that just made me think, she is probably taking her son in with open arms but she still seems to pray to god to lead him through the right path as she sees it in the bible and not in reality.
The second video touched me a lot, "would you rather have a gay child or a dead child". That really hit me, she had a powerful choice of words. It takes time for parents to accept it but in the end they will love you unconditionally the next day, in a 1 week, 1 month or in a Year, it takes time but every parent will come around.
I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t find it, none of the downloads exist. This song is so great – I love Harry Potter, the song has meaningful lyrics for once, and it has a nice beat. Anyone know where? I could get it if I downloaded a video of it off Youtube but then it wouldn’t be in the best quality.
PLEASE. <33
Ooh I love that song too!
I got it from my friend who also listens to MOM but you could check here:
YouTube*
iTunes
their Myspace page
or just Google it
I really hope you can get it because I agree — it’s a totally awesome song! =D
*If you’re going to get it from YouTube it’s really easy to download for free AND in awesome quality. All you have to do is download RealPlayer (for free) from their website. Install it any you can download any video or audio from every site on the internet. It’s actually how I get all of my music.
I live in Canada. A friend of mine has some VHS videos from the early 1980’s. These are videos from a church ministry that no longer is in production, so you can not purchase DVD versions. What they want to do is make DVD backups. They have purchased a VCR to play them but one day they will wear out and they would like to make sure they won’t lose these videos. Is this illegal?
No, it’s totally legal., provided that they do not sell or loan out the originals or the copies.
just sharing this ministry video from a sister from my church. She has these video series of teaching values women should know that are based on scriptures. This is actually her husband’s youtube account and I just now found out his wife has her own series that she’s been broadcasting. I recommend seeing both his preaching and his wife’s teaching stuff.

Didn’t watch the whole thing, but what I did watch certainly does need to be taught and I would hope that God will bless her ministry. There is so much evil on here it is refreshing to see a little purity.
Can you minister to people and play video games?
Why couldn’t you? Does the bible suddenly say, "Thou shalt not playeth the video game, it is an abomination before the LORD"?
