I want to start a youth group up but have no idea how to go about starting it. I know this is what God wants me to do but i have no idea what i am doing or where i am to start or even how to start.. so confused on the issue. and its driving me crazy cause i feel like i am not doing what he wants.
Why not let thee kids develop critical thinking skills before you force religion onto them? Because kids will believe anything when their young. Heck they even believe Santa Claus!

Find a local church or any church you like and talk to the pastor about it. They might be able to start a youth ministry there. Who knows?

Get with friends who feel the same way as you do.

see if your area has a Boys and Girls Club and talk to the people to see if they know of any of the kids that would be interested.

A few years ago we went to a coffee house called "The Joshua House". It was a small building with a snack bar and a room with a stage and pews and chairs lining the walls. Teens and young adults who enjoy metal music were invited to attend and listen to the music, play their music if they played, and hear the Gospel. They were open on friday and saturday nights and were more laid back than a sunday morning service. This may not be along the lines of what you are thinking, but perhaps it may give you some ideas. Like a kind of clubhouse that they can go to and find things to do on weekends.

Hi there,
The simple answer would be to start serving the youth. Jesus came to serve and to instruct his children. Follow his example, keep your eye on God’s Kingdom, and watch where God is working – and join him.
Take a look on my Christian Teen pages (link below) for some insights into how to approach teens. Let me know if you have questions.

invite friends, relatives who look up to you as a group leader or care group leader in your house have a pizza, talk about specific topics on the bible, even watch documentary videos from BBC,Discovery and National Geographic can make huge impressions on your youth group
As what i have emailed earlier, the early christian communities held biblical discussions in their houses, spreading the word by eating and talking about the miracles of jesus, the resurrection.
have fun doing it. get involved in your ministry or better yet start one
