This morning I came into the livingroom and there was my 9yr old standing in front of the TV with her hands palm out facing it. On the screen was a man and a woman both with one hand out saying they were praying for some infection or something. I asked my daughter what she was doing and she turned to me with this big smile and told me that Peter was praying for her to get a lot of money. Then she said she needs to write to him because he is going to send her Miracle Water for free that will help her get the things she wants from God. I know nothing about this Ministry but I always allow my children to learn about any religion they want. I would dislike for her to be disappointed but think it will be a good learning experience. Does anyone know about this Ministry or about this miracle water? Has anyone heard of people being healed by putting there hands up to the TV?

Peter Popoff was on dateline and was shown as a confirmed fraud. Though he still continues his ministry. Not that all of the faith ministries are, just be careful do some research. If they ask for money in order for God to give you a miracle think twice. Most of the time 5 min. on the Internet will give you answers you need. Its good to let your daughter choose thing for herself but being the parent just be careful what you allow a 9 yr old to choose. especially when it comes to a belief system that will start to solidify what her life and morals will be.

Peter Popoff is nothing more than a con man. I would explain to your daughter that all religions are frauds and people like Popoff prey on the desperate and the ignorant.

You said you "always allow my children to learn about any religion they want" … so teach her. Tell her how these television ministries started out, tell her about the con artists and how to tell the difference.
If you are a person of faith, then show her what you believe as well.

if you join Peter Popoff’s friends, which is for free he will send you miracle holy water, then you are to follow the instructions that he gives with the water before you go to bed, i think that it’s like write down what you need sprinkle the water on your head, and your pillow and then send Peter money and your requests wil be fullfilled. Then he sends holy, blessed clothes and stuff. it’s weird. my buddy joined the group as a joke so he could laugh. I just got depressed that some Christians are actually like that. I say steer clear, but if you think it would be a good learning experience let her do while teaching her about its dangers

Do you have any confidence in a man named "Peter Popoff"? I mean really…..His, like so many others, claim of being able to heal through the televsion is such a sad deception..and what is more sad is that some people actaully BELIEVE that they can be healed this way. God only gave healing powers to a certain number of his disciples, after that I don’t think it was passed on. The only healing miracle I know of, is prayer.

Parents are to teach their children in the way they should go.. regarding faith. If you let others monkey with their minds.., you could end up with a future cult follower on your hands.
I AM NOT SAYING Peter Popoff is a Cult or whatever – I am saying I distrust people who Market Jesus like a Sports Logo. That is not what Jesus is about.
AND the Bible warns about Preachers who say gain is godliness. Protection of your children is more than just protecting them from physical harm, but manipulation as well.
While you don’t want to tear down your child’s faith in miracles, it maybe hard to explain about false and true preachers to a young child. There are real healing – but unfortunately they get lost in these "For Show" preachers.
Jesus had crowds when he healed but I am certain he didn’t clear an area and put on a song and dance show and make sure cameras angled in on his best profile while praying for the sick. He healed the people, no show, no extravaganza.
Pray the Lord guides you the best way to tell your child.
