I am an atheist, and I have been earnestly praying to become a believer. For years. Since I was a child. And, no matter what, I am an atheist. The more I hear about "God," the more scripture I read, the more I think about "God," the more atheistic I become.
So, will God ever heal me of atheism? Or is God more worried about "healing" gay people? Why aren’t there ministries to prove God, to heal atheists?

your mind is your stumbling block here. you say you want it, but you take no positive action, you allow what you have become to stagnate you. If you are sincere and this is what you really want, you must pray with faith. Faith is going to be key and you can show it by following the plan of salvation, that is if you are sincere.
There is nothing God cannot do, you can stump your own efforts through pride, ego, and self service.

lol, God isn’t too busy trying to heal gay people. God gives us free will and allows us to believe whatever we want (although he would rather it be him). So all in all it’s not really his fault, but yours, that you’re still an atheist. If you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them for you

You bring about a very good question. God wants everyone to believe in him and accept him. The fact that you are praying to become a believer tells me that you probably DO believe and don’t realize it. Satan is always on the prowl, and he’ll do anything to try to pull you down and not believe in God. He’s very good at planting the seeds of doubt into your mind and heart and feeding you lies. God’s trying to reach you, and if you continue to pray and read the bible, God will help you bring things together. See if you can find a small christian non-denominational church, one which won’t judge you for your unbelief, and speak with the pastor. Because if a christian church shuns or judges you, LEAVE, for it’s not a christian church. God can’t allow us to see him while we’re here, because he’s perfect and holy and we wouldn’t be able survive his presence. But he’s there, and he’ll work with you. I’ll pray for you too, for I’ve seen the outcome of answered prayers for myself and other people. Don’t give up. God will find you if you seek him.

I’m going to take it as this could truly be a troll question but will give you a answer anyways.
What is thought of as god is not what the true God is. Perhaps you are a young soul and you have not yet aged enough to see that perhaps there is a God. Those that worship the religious gods also perhaps have not yet been around long enough to know what the true God is all about.
One thing that I will believe about God though is. We are given free will to choose the life we want. God will never condemn you as God knows that we are imperfect and life is a learning lesson. God does not punish us. That is something we do to ourselves.
I do understand though what you mean about

Many truths in the bible and many deceptions to keep you from the truth. I’ve read the bible front to back and this is not a version of god that I would wish to believe in myself.
Keep seeking and perhaps you will find a path that you wish to walk to seek the truth you wish to find.

Look, atheism isn’t a disease, it’s a choice. If you want to become a Christian, great, please, by all means do so. Read the Bible, pray to God, confess your sins, pray for forgiveness, repent of those sins (try your hardest not to do them again), forgive others (as God will not forgive those who don’t forgive others (see Matthew 18:21-35), stay in His word (John 8:31), but for you to stay in His word you have to know what is it, study your Bible.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. You dont receive faith by praying. You increase your faith by studying the Word of God with an OPEN and not critical mind.
If you are serious about befriending and believing in God then I suggest you watch Christian channels or programs. You will see the power of God changing situations which doctors said could not change. People get up from death beds healed of cancer without chemotherapy or amputations, healed of AIDS, diabetes etc.

God hears your cry. God knows everything. God does not always answer when we want him to, I waited for many years for an answer and I kept praying for it to come and it wasnt until 7 years of earnest praying that I finally got what I had been looking for.
I have met many people who claim to be Athiest but I have yet to meet a true one. Athiesm is the belief that God does not exist at all. This is a hard belief to possess when Athiests also claim that they do not know everything in the span of possible knowledge etc… It is hard to believe that God does not exist when we actually have no scientific evidence to disprove his existence as such. God is above science and science cannot be used to measure God. Science itself has never disproved God’s existence. This is a previous answer that I have done ""Scientists are just full of themselves and need to remember a few things.
-God can create anything that seems explainable by science but actually it wasnt what God had done in the first place.
-Science cannot dispove God and his creation of this planet therefore the occurance of this has never exactly been rulled out, so to deny its possibility is actually unscientific and more religious in nature as it is a belief not a fact.
-If science is so sure that a big bang created the world and all that is within it then why is it not clever enough to fathom another colour or creation without using any of the colours or creations here on earth.
Science is in some ways quite stupid in God’s eyes and really not good for the human spirit later on.
God is God and he cannot be understood completely by humans science . God is who he says to us that he is.
Quite frankly Creationists believe that God created the world in one way or another because they are not so stupid that they cannot see that science in itself is no match for a being that can create anything or do anything. ""
I think that you need to work through some practical things too as well as not giving up on your prayers. Dont give up, God is pleased to see that you are searching for the honest truth. Seek him with all your heart and it will come eventually but you must not lose heart and give up. God said you dont have to make them long prayers but just consistent and not giving up so it really does not take long to do a 30 second prayer 3 times a day to show your sincerity. Try some practical things too. Start to wage war on your current beliefs. You obviously dont want to let them go. Are they scientific based? if so you need to keep understanding that God is beyond science and therefore there is scientific possibility for his existence. You need to state exactly why you dont believe in God and then wage war against it. Then you will come to a place of greater faith. You will then find that you actually believe that he may possibly exist rather than doesnt at all. Believing that he possibly exists is the first step before believing. Challenge you beliefs quite seriously and your faith will start to increase.

If you are so concerned about not being able to believe you do not sound to be an atheist – rather, a searcher or, ‘nearly-a-Christian’. I am sorry that you are having such a hard time.
One suggestion is – find a church with a busy programme, a church wih all age groups. If it feels or appears to have possibilities for you, ask about a Bible fellowship or house group; and ask the Pastor/Minister if he and prayerful friends, would pray for you.
Please keep searching. Often, those who have had the longest and hardest search to find God find him in a wonderfully powerful way that removes all vestiges of doubt – often unexpectedly – might be when you are washing the car and you get a sudden glimpse of a specially beautiful sky that suddenly blazes with a spiritual Glory!!
Finding God is different for everyone; learning about another’s path is inspiring and encouraging but it may be quite different for you. God has made a faithful promise -"…God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul." No time frame mentioned! – In other words – put your best effort into your search. I suppose you have read the gospels? They usually make some impact.
I went through a bleak time (years) faith-wise; what kept me looking and hoping was the testimony of all God’s witnesses – in the Bible, in history and believers living today. One day, you will be helping others!
