According to ” … According to “Spinner”:The Chicago-based band’s debut, 1981’s New Wave classic ‘With Sympathy,’ the vocal duties were apparently handled by a young English girl who also happened to be named Al Jourgensen. Naturally, Jourgensen has distanced himself from his frilly synthpop years: “I just disregard that record. I don’t consider it part of my catalog whatsoever.”
Alice in Chains … Alice in Chains hair metal?? Wtf are you talking about? Show me THAT period and look on them, please? I can’t imagine it and I have been a fan of theirs since the beginning. Do you mean two separate bands?
I was introduced to … I was introduced to Ministry during the days of Headbanger’s Ball on MTV, and songs like NWO and Just One Fix, so I had an INCREDIBLY hard time believing this was the same band. But hey, both incarnations are fantastic.
Haha I never knew … Haha I never knew about Alice N’ Chainz, that’s hilarious. Don’t forget NWA = the Fila Fresh Crew, well not quite but close enough. The guy from Skinny Puppy was also in Images n’ vogue who IMO sucked hugely.
Seems like a lot of … Seems like a lot of great bands had sordid pasts. You’ve also got Trent Reznor’s synth-pop (I don’t hate Pretty Hate Machine, but like this it’s just so much more shallow than all his other albums) and the hair metal band “Alice ‘N Chainz”. And didn’t Pantera have that album Metal Magic?
I wonder if a fan … I wonder if a fan ever went to Al to autograph this cd or lp? You know it’s happened and does old Al sigh heavily and sign it? I still like all Ministry stuff. His hair is cool in this video.
Great stuff, forget … Great stuff, forget that this is power pop or new wave or goth whatever Al is a great artist “land of rape and Hponey” sounds nothing like “The Last Sucker” and neither sound like “Psam 69″ or “Twitch” a true Ministry fan likeds the whole thing not just the last couple of cds. There all good in there own way.
Nope! Although … Nope! Although weirdly I’m leaning back towards the darkwave sound now. Check out the video for same old madness it’s one of their best. Loving the stuff off of Twitch too but the label keeps pulling the vids down.
twitch is when they … twitch is when they started getting good to me….Twitch is one of my favorite albums…but I hate this album…he was forced to do it by the record company
